1st Byfleet Scout Group and Woking Borough Council appointed BBF Fielding Ltd to undertake a Full
Architectural commission to build a new replacement Scouting Facility.
The proposed development site is within the Green Belt on the western side of Byfleet Village and is
for exclusive use of the group.
The proposed design solution reflects the outline form of a tent and is synonymous with the
objectives of the Scouting movement. It comprises a large hall with storage for equipment, meeting
room, kitchen and ancillary facilities.
It is constructed using a simple steel ‘A’ frame type construction and is clad with profiled shiplap
horizontal panels and a composite metal insulated system.
