BBF Fielding were initially appointed by Rutland Woking Ltd to carry out a feasibility study on a site that consisted of a disused council recycling centre and a strip of derelict land adjacent to an established industrial estate. The site was further constrained by a pumped rising foul main running through it and a small embankment down to the neighbouring allotments.
The solution was to create 3 speculative individual industrial units of approx. 970m² GIA of modern flexible space, linked via a service road running along the line of foul sewer. Our commission was extended to provide a full architectural service. We worked closely with other consultants to secure planning permission, produced working drawings and procurement information and then worked closely with the contractor during construction phase.
