The Bradbury Centre has been developed by The Friends of the Elderly charity to provide a Day Centre for people with Alzheimer’s disease. The centre also provides accommodation for Woking Home Support Service and the Advocacy in Action Group.
The building was constructed on the site of the former Smiles Home. The design of the scheme allowed for a significant portion of the remaining land to be sold off for residential development. This provided a valuable funding contribution towards the Bradbury Centre scheme.
Accommodation within the building is provided on two floors. The Ground Floor is primarily for the Day Centre. The major rooms of which overlook an attractively planted, secure courtyard area.
The first floor level is configured within the roof space. Accommodation at this level is in two separate wings. The south wing contains offices to accommodate Woking Home Support Service, the Advocacy in Action Group, a meeting room and ancillary staff accommodation for the whole building.
The east wing provides bedroom and common room accommodation for staff of the building and the adjacent Bernard Sunley Residential Home.
