Built on the site of a former disused car park this development forms part of the Hoe Valley Improvement scheme.
The Sea Cadets have been using the nearby Goldsworth Park Lake for a number of years and now their new headquarters building overlooks the water. Designed to provide the sea cadets with a wide range of dedicated facilities the building is also dual purpose and available to serve the local community.
To allow for future flexibility the building was conceived a steel framed two storey structure with a single storey boat store/garage block attached. The external envelope of the building comprises facing brickwork at ground floor level and cedar cladding to the first floor.
Renewable energy is provided to the building by means of a combination of photovoltaic cells and air source heat pumps.
